About Camp
What your child experiences during his or her summers at Camp Ramah Darom will last a lifetime. Our program is designed to be a progressive experience, giving your child the chance to grow, learn and master new skills each year. For many of our youngest campers, camp is the first time they have been away from home. During the summer, they learn how to take care of themselves and others and live in a community. Each summer, your child will be exposed to new opportunities that will empower them, build their self-confidence and strengthen their personal identity. By the time they reach our oldest aidah (unit), they will have developed a strong value system and begin to take responsibility for sustaining community and living a life grounded on Jewish principles. Our campers go on to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives, confident in themselves and secure in their Jewish identity.

The Impact of Jewish Summer Camp
Studies show that the experience of Jewish camp has long-term effects on the way campers go on to live their lives. Did you know that as adults, campers are more likely to identify with being Jewish and to actively live a Jewish life? According to The Foundation for Jewish Camp, as adults, campers are 45 percent more likely to attend synagogue at least once a month, and are more likely to participate in their community and take responsibility for giving back. As adults, campers also are 37 percent more likely to light candles on Shabbat and 26 percent more likely to be active members of a synagogue.
